(Paramount+) Match Recap Juventus fans headed into this Saturday matchday with the utmost confidence in their squad and rightfully so, as the Bianconeri had found a run of good form just prior to the international break. Securing a vital win over bitter rivals Inter in the infamous Derby d’Italia had propelled Juventus even further up the Serie A standings, where they came into today sitting at 7th on the ladder. This matchup against Verona, a team desperately trying to stave off relegation, provided The Old Lady with another prime chance to earn 3 easy points and continue their ascent towards the top 4. However, the performance that was served over the cour...

(Paramount+) Match Recap Fresh off a convincing 2-0 victory against Freiburg at the midweek, Juventus’ confidence level was only continuing to build and compound on itself. With a ticket now punched to the quarterfinals of the Europa League and a date set with Portuguese club Sporting CP, the Italian giants geared up for another massive matchday against bitter rivals Inter in the Derby d'Italia. From the first whistle it was apparent what head coach Max Allegri wanted his team to achieve. The Old Lady set out with the clear intention to snag an early lead and defend like their lives depended on it for the remainder of the 90 minutes…in typical Allegri fashion. Fans of the Bianconero were quickly rel...

Full-Time 8th Edition - Juventus vs Nantes

Image
(Paramount+) Match Recap Juventus went into Thursday’s 2nd leg contest against Nantes desperately needing a good showing after they faltered to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting. Oh boy did they deliver! Or perhaps I should say “he” delivered. The Bianconero cruised to an impressive 3-0 victory over the french side, thanks in part to an absolute masterclass of a game from Argentine attacker, Angel Di Maria. Di Maria only continues to impress, as he compiled onto his recent performances by recording his first hat-trick since arriving at Juventus. He opened the scoring in the first half with a mystical curling shot from about 20 yards out that found its way into the top left corner of the goal. The veteran attacker would score a second goal in the first 45 minutes of the contest, before scoring a header in the 2nd half to complete the hat-trick. This performance by Di Maria helped lift Juventus past Nantes and secure a round of 16 spot in Europa League against German clu...

Full-Time 7th Edition - Juventus vs Spezia

(CBS Sports) Match Recap Juventus arrived away at Spezia Sunday evening for their next Serie A contest following their disappointing 1-1 draw against Nantes during the midweek. Although the final result concluded in a much needed 3 points and a 2-0 win for The Old Lady, it would be dishonest to claim that this was one of Juve’s brighter showings of the season. The first half presented very little in terms of offensive chances or creativity from the Italian giants, as they struggled to move the ball with fluidity up the pitch. Several key tackles and defensive interventions were made to win back possession, however the final product in the attacking half was hard to come by. That was until the 32nd minute when Italian striker, Moise Kean, thumped home the games first goal after getting on the receiving end of a beautiful cross served in by Serbian winger, Filip Kostic. This was the lone bright spot in the first 45 minutes of the contest, but nonetheless Max Allegri’s Ju...

(CBSSports.com)                                                                 Match Recap  The Bianconero looked to rebound and get back on track in the Serie A standings with a statement win over Salernitana, which they more than accomplished. Juventus’ star striker, Dusan Vlahovic, helped lead the 3-0 thrashing of Salernitana by contributing 2 goals Tuesday evening. In fact, all three of The Old Lady’s goals were contributed by Serbian internationals. Vlahovic was the clear star of the show with his first-half brace, in which he successfully converted a penalty kick after a foul was committed on fellow teammate Fabio Miretti in the 26th minute and then followed up with a second goal to ki...

Full-Time 5th Edition - Juventus vs. Venezia

Image
(Source:CBSSports.com) Match Recap  The Old Lady entered this weekend with a golden opportunity to continue their climb to the top of the Serie A table.  Coming off two consecutive wins over both Salernitana and Genoa, Juventus looked to keep the momentum going as they traveled to Venice to play Venezia.  It turns out that the traveling was the most enjoyable thing to come from Saturday's trip to Venice, as Juve arrived for the game via a boat ride.  Other than their stylish arrival, there was not much else to smile about for fans of the Bianconero.  The reason for the disappointment is one that has become all too familiar for Juventus and its fans. More dropped points once again!  Newly promoted Venezia are a team with some young talent, however these are the sorts of matches that Juve can ill afford to keep losing points to bottom-half sides.  Juventus once again dominated possession of the ball, but that wasn't enough to get the job done...

Full-Time 4th Edition - Juventus vs. Genoa

Image
(Source: CBSSports.com) Match Recap The Old Lady fresh off a satisfactory win over Salernitana at the midweek, set out in hopes of acquiring an additional three points to continue their ascent in the Serie A table.  Standing in their path was relegation threatened side, Genoa.  Genoa has struggled mightily throughout their 2021 campaign up until this point.  The club is being coached by the newly appointed, Andriy Shevchenko.  The manager is a former striker who played in Serie A for Juventus rivals, AC Milan.  However, the coach's knowledge of how to score goals, hasn't exactly translated into his team's performances.  Genoa have failed to score a single goal in the first four matches since Shevchenko was appointed as coach.  Nonetheless, Juventus needed to approach this game with confidence and authority, no matter how weak the opposition may appear.  The Bianconero did just that, as they put on one of their most complete and efficient pe...
